Influence of the type of the dissolution medium on the UV spectra of diclofenac sodium
Keywords:
diclofenac sodium, dissolution media, absorbance, UV spectraAbstract
The UV spectra of diclofenac sodium at concentration 10 µg/ml in nineteen dissolution media were obtained. According to the absorptivity values and shift of wavelengths at maximum and minimum absorbances, four of the dissolution media were chosen for the studies. Stability of phosphoric buffer at pH 6.8 and citric buffer at pH 6.5 was maintained to 8 h and 11 h, respectively. These dissolution media can be used for the release studies of diclofenac sodium from the pharmaceutical preparations.
