About the Journal

1. Aim and Scope

Our mission is to advance scientific knowledge in pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, and health sciences through the publication of innovative, methodologically robust studies. To reflect the broad spectrum of biomedical research, the journal is organized into the following sections:

  • Pharmaceutical Sciences – encompassing medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, pharmacognosy, pharmaceutical technology, biopharmacy, toxicology, and drug design.
  • Medical Sciences – focusing on clinical and experimental medicine, translational research, diagnostics, and therapeutic strategies.
  • Dentistry Sciences – dedicated to advances in dental materials, oral biology, clinical dentistry, maxillofacial research, and preventive oral health.
  • Health Sciences – covering public health, epidemiology, health policy, nursing, physiotherapy, and medical education.

Current Issues in Pharmacy and Medical Sciences welcomes original research articles, review papers, short communications, and case reports. We encourage submissions from both academic researchers and clinical practitioners, highlighting translational approaches that bridge experimental results and real-world medical applications. 
The journal supports the global exchange of scientific information and promotes open dialogue between scientists, clinicians, and healthcare professionals around the world.

2. Open Access Policy

Current Issues in Pharmacy and Medical Sciences provides immediate open access to its content, supporting the principle that making research available to the public promotes a greater global exchange of knowledge.
All articles published in the journal are freely available online without subscription or access fees. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author, provided that the original work is properly cited.

3. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain the copyright to their work while granting the publisher the right to publish the article and identify itself as the original publisher.
All articles in Current Issues in Pharmacy and Medical Sciences are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). This license permits users to copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format for non-commercial purposes, provided that proper attribution is given to the original authors and the source, and the material is not modified.

4. Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous peer review process. Following an initial editorial screening, manuscripts that meet the journal’s scope and basic quality requirements are sent to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. The journal applies a double-blind peer review process, in which both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous throughout the review procedure.
Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection of the manuscript.The editorial office ensures that the review process is conducted in a fair, objective, and timely manner.

5. Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The journal is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity in scholarly publishing. 
The editorial policies follow internationally recognized ethical guidelines, including those provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Editors, reviewers, and authors are expected to adhere to ethical standards including:

  • originality of submitted work,
  • proper acknowledgment of sources,
  • avoidance of plagiarism and redundant, publication,
  • disclosure of conflicts of interest,
  • responsible research practices.

Any cases of suspected research misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or unethical experimentation, will be investigated according to established ethical guidelines.

6. Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and text similarity using professional plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts that contain evidence of plagiarism, redundant publication, or significant overlap with previously published material will be rejected (above 30% Similarity Check). 
The editorial office reserves the right to request clarification or supporting documentation from authors if concerns regarding originality arise.

7. Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could inappropriately influence their work. All sources of funding and potential conflicts of interest must be clearly stated in the manuscript. If no conflicts exist, authors should include the following statement in their manuscript: "The authors declare no conflict of interest."

8. Research Ethics

Research involving human participants must comply with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki and must be approved by an appropriate institutional ethics committee. Authors must confirm that informed consent was obtained from all participants. 
Studies involving animals must follow institutional and national guidelines for the care and use of laboratory animals.

9. Data Availability

Authors are encouraged to make the data supporting the results of their research publicly available whenever possible. Data may be deposited in appropriate public repositories or provided as supplementary materials accompanying the article.

10. Artificial Intelligence in Manuscript Preparation

The use of artificial intelligence tools (e.g., generative language models) in the preparation of manuscripts must be disclosed by the authors. AI tools may be used for language editing or technical assistance but cannot be listed as authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the content of the manuscript

11. Article Processing Charges (APC)

The journal charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) to cover editorial and publication costs. The APC for publication in the journal “Current Issues in Pharmacy and Medical Sciences” is 600 PLN (135 EUR) (including VAT). The APC fee is charged only after the manuscript has been accepted for publication following a positive review.
No submission fees are charged.

12. Publishing Schedule & Model

The journal is published quarterly. Articles are made available online after approval and editorial preparation (version of record), and then aggregated into issues.

13. Editorial timeliness

To ensure efficient processing and timely publication:

  • Reviewers must complete their review by the designated deadline.
  • Authors must submit corrections or responses by the deadline specified by the editors.
  • Manuscripts that are not corrected by the deadline may be withdrawn.

These policies help to maintain a smooth editorial process and improve publication quality.

14. Archiving and Digital Preservation

All articles are permanently available on the journal’s website and are archived in electronic databases and indexing services (e.g. Index Copernicus, Library of Science) to ensure continued access and preservation of the scholarly record.
