DEVELOPMENT OF EPIDEMIOLOGICAL NURSING. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND – PART II
Introduction. The origins of epidemiological nursing in Poland go back to the nineties in the twentieth century and they are strongly connected with the transformation that has taken place at that time in Polish health care, including the nosocomial infections control programme.
Object. The second part of the study presents the role of the Polish Association of Epidemiological Nurses in the creation of epidemiological nursing on the basis of Polish epidemiological health care. Also the legislation that set the main lines of action for epidemiological nurses, is presented.
Conclusions. Polish Association of Epidemiological Nurses has a key role in the development of epidemiological nursing. It is an organization without which it would be inappropriate to speak about the history, development and the future in epidemiological nursing.
Epidemiological nurses carry out their duties well by the provisions set out in the legislation, in which the range of due tasks of the surveillance of infections is very clearly determined.
