Negatywne skutki zdrowotne korzystania z solarium

Pozornie bezpieczne i dla niektórych osób przyjemne przebywanie w solarium stanowi poważne zagrożenie dla zdrowia. WHO zakwalifikowało promieniowanie ultrafioletowe emitowane przez lampy używane w kabinach solaryjnych do grupy czynników najwyższego ryzyka. Promieniowanie UV jest szczególnie niebezpieczne dla dzieci i młodzieży. Niepokojący wydaje się fakt, że stale wzrasta liczba nowotworów skóry: raka podstawnokomórkowego (BCC), kolczystokomórkowego (SCC) i czerniaka złośliwego (MM). Naukowcy wciąż starają się udowodnić, jak duży wpływ na proces kancerogenezy ma promieniowanie UV. W artykule przedstawiono aktualne doniesienia z różnych państw dotyczące wzrastającej liczby przypadków czerniaka i innych nowotworów skóry. Poruszono tematykę szkodliwego wpływu UV na skórę człowieka.
