Preparing original papers
The Editorial Board accept the following types of manuscripts:
- original research papers,

- case studies presenting unique or atypical forms of psychopathology, innovative forms of diagnosis and/or therapy,
- letters to the Editor presenting reasoned polemics or suggestions for revisions regarding published articles.
The Editorial Board does not accept manuscripts presenting only bibliometric analyses of publication or descriptions of publications' trends.
The Editors set length limits for submitted manuscripts: original research papers up to 6000 words, review papers up to 4500 words, case studies up to 2500 words, and letters to the editor up to 1500 words. This limit does not apply to the title page, tables, figures, or references.
The editors also set a limit on the number of authors: in the case of review articles and case studies up to 4 authors, in the case of letters to the editor up to 2 authors. Manuscripts sent to the "Current Problems of Psychiatry" should be prepared in MS Word, using font 12 points (e.g. Arial, Times New Roman) and double line spacing. In case of papers in English or other congress language, the abstract in Polish is required.
Measurements and titers should be used in accordance with the international system of units (SI). Abbreviations should be explained at their first use in the text.
Abbreviations cannot be used in the abstract.
1) Figures, tables, photos:
Figures and tables should not be placed in the text, only their target location should be given, for example (Fig. 1), (Tab. 1). List of figures should be prepared on a separate page (after the list of references), and the tables should be placed at the end of the manuscript, following the list of figures, each on a separate page. Arabic number of the table and its title should be written above the table. Under the table in the footer, an explanation of acronyms used should be included.
Only high-quality prints will be accepted for print, i.e. in * .tif, or .jpg, with a resolution of 300 dpi, 8 cm (column) or 16 cm wide (two columns). Color photos should be made in RGB, diagrams in Word, PowerPoint or Excel. Captions in photos should not be used but only symbolic markings, for example arrows, crosses, caves, which must be sufficiently large and easy to read. Their explanation should be included in the caption of figures.
In case of submission of figures published in another journal, a written consent of the copyright owner for reusing is required.
2) Statistical Analyses:
The journal expects from the authors of original papers high level of applied statistical analyzes, i.e. avoidance of nominal variables, preparation of groups surveyed and analyzed variables in such a way as to allow the use of parametric methods (in line with the normal distribution), considering of effect size in the comparisons (not just the level p), controlling the results of the multivariate analysis regarding multiple comparisons, respect the methodology recommendations (assumptions) on the use of advanced methods of statistical analysis (e.g. regression analysis, MANOVA etc.). Result analysis using non-parametric methods is only permitted when the nature of variables makes it impossible to use parametric tests.
The editors may reject a manuscript containing statistical and methodological errors without prior review.
3) The layout of manuscripts:
Title page - the first page of publication - contains the title, the full names of the authors, personal ORCID identifier, their affiliations, including the name of the institution, the city and the country. Consecutive Arabic numerals put after the name as an upper index indicate affiliation, (affiliations should be sent in 2 language versions: Polish and English, an English version should not contain Polish diactritical marks) for example:

Scientific reliability
Editors of "Current Problems of Psychiatry" point out that the transparency of information on entities that contribute to the creation of publications (technical input, material, financial, etc.), is the evidence of ethical attitude of researcher and the highest editorial standards, which is not only a manifestation of good manners, but also of social responsibility.
We would like to indicate that the authors of the publication are required to present the results of their research in a transparent, honest and fair way. Specific manifestations of misconduct are called ghostwriting and guest authorship:
- we deal with the phenomenon of ghostwriting when the authors do not disclose the person who has made a significant contribution to publication – and he/ she is not mentioned as one of the authors or in the acknowledgments in the publication;
- unethical attitude of guest authorship takes place when the contribution of an author is little or none, and yet he/she is the co-author of publication.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not the author. Authors of submitted manuscripts are obliged to disclose whether and to what extent AI was used in the process of developing the manuscript. The editors reserve the right to reject manuscripts whose authors do not disclose the use of AI or where the extent of the contribution of AI use remains unclear.
Editors declare that authors of the publication bear full responsibility for it, and all detected cases of misconduct will be revealed. In the Covering letter attached to the manuscript the Authors are requested to disclose the contribution of authors to the creation of publication, with the main responsibility born by the author submitting the manuscript.
Information about financing sources
In the case of obtaining funds for realisation of a research project, it is necessary to give information concerning financing source under the references.

Editors make use of so called “double blind” review, which means that authors do not know the reviewers identities and vice versa. Editorial Office reserves the right to make changes in the sent article (e.g. proofreading, changes resulting from editorial rules or language culture).
At first, papers are evaluated from the formal requirements point of view by a managing editor. Authors are obliged to mark with red font all parts of the manuscript in which they made changes according to the reviewers recommendations. This rule applies also to any new fragments of papers. In addition, they are required to add a "Response to Reviewers' Comments" document, precisely presenting all changes and additions made, as well as the authors' response to the reviewers' comments.

Medical University of Lublin journals - guidelines for authors regarding use of AI tools
- Author's responsibility: Content creation tools based on AI such as ChatGPT, Copilot, and other language models, may be used to support individual work on an article, but under no circumstances can they substitute author's personal input. Authors are fully responsible for the contents fo the article, including legitimacy of any information supplied by the AI tools and proper references to credible sources used to support claims in the article. The author(s) are solely responsible for any potential copyright violations resulting from the use of an AI tool.
- Transparency of use: If an AI tool was employed at any stage and any capacity during the writing process, its use must be described in a transparent and precise manner. It is recommended to fully detail the extent of support the AI tool has provided in the writing process in order to ensure full transparency for readers and editors. The description should list the AI tools and prompts used to generate content.
- Breadth of use: AI-based tools may be used to help at different stages of the writing process such as correction, contnent suggestion, or bibliography, but cannot function as independent authors.
