Nowadays the daily activity of people is changing due to progressive digitization and computerization of the society. It is very difficult to imagine the world without computers and mobile phones. The mentioned changes are also connected with patients who often make diagnosis by themselves, looking for some information on the Internet.
Many Internet environments have been described. The authors of this article have decided to analyze one of them – the blogs. The freedom of publication as well as the mechanism of building social connections and the possibility of creating support groups between bloggers, were the main factors which influenced choosing of the theme of this paper.
Thirty blogs, written by diabetics, were analyzed and divided into groups based on the presentation style of patient and disease. The medical as well as the psychological aspects of bloggers were taken into consideration. The Internet communities have been also reviewed, where patients, suffering from diabetes, can look for some information about their disease and find a support.
