Funkcjonowanie społeczne a poznanie społeczne u osób chorych na schizofrenię

W ostatnich latach dużo uwagi poświęca się problematyce funkcjonowania społecznego oraz funkcjom poznania społecznego w schizofrenii. Odpowiedni poziom funkcjonowania społecznego pozwala pacjentom na spełnianie się w ważnych życiowych rolach, tj. uzyskiwaniu samodzielności, nawiązywaniu relacji interpersonalnych, tworzeniu związków partnerskich, zakładaniu rodziny, podejmowaniu pracy zawodowej. Czynnikiem, który w dużej mierze warunkuje prawidłowe funkcjonowanie społeczne pacjentów, pozostają niezaburzone procesy poznania społecznego.
Niniejszy artykuł, będący przeglądem literatury związanej z tą problematyką, został podzielony na trzy części: w pierwszej z nich przedstawiono definicje funkcjonowania społecznego, w drugiej – definicje poznania społecznego, w trzeciej – powiązania pomiędzy poznaniem społecznym i funkcjonowaniem społecznym oraz możliwości farmako- i psychoterapeutyczne poprawy poznania społecznego, a przez to i funkcjonowania pacjentów ze schizofrenią.
